Code of Conduct

Membership Code of Conduct

Bay Veterans Association is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all veterans, volunteers, and members. The following Code of Conduct sets out the expectations for member behaviour, aligned with our mission, values, and legal obligations. By participating in any activity, event, or communication related to Bay Veterans Association, all members agree to abide by these rules.

1. Members must treat all individuals associated with Bay Veterans Association with respect, dignity, and consideration—both in person and online, including through social media or any public platform.

2. Members are expected to maintain a polite, courteous, and professional manner at all times during Association events, activities, or interactions.

3. Any form of discrimination, including the expression of racial, sexual, religious, or radical political views, is strictly prohibited during any Association-affiliated activity.

4. Members must refrain from any behaviour that contributes to a negative or emotionally unsafe environment, as this undermines the wellbeing and mutual respect expected within Bay Veterans Association.

5. Members must not engage in spreading rumours, or the communication of unfounded or potentially defamatory statements about other members, volunteers, or the organisation.

6. Members are not permitted to offer, advertise, or provide support or welfare services to other members under the name of Bay Veterans Association without prior written approval from the Board of Directors. Any proposed service must be reviewed, approved, and documented appropriately.

7. Any concerns, grievances, or safeguarding issues must be reported through the appropriate internal channels, following the Bay Veterans Association Complaints Policy and Procedure. Members must not bypass established protocols or escalate complaints through unofficial means.

8. Members are expected to comply fully with all data protection, confidentiality, and safeguarding regulations as outlined in the Association’s policies and training materials.

9. Members must respect the authority and structure of the Association and are expected to cooperate with guidance or decisions issued by the Board of Directors or appointed representatives.

10. Any conduct deemed to disrupt the safety, harmony, or mission of the Association may lead to disciplinary action, including termination of membership, subject to review by the Board of Directors.

This Code of Conduct exists to protect all members and uphold the integrity of Bay Veterans Association. Failure to comply may result in appropriate action being taken by the Board of Directors. We thank you for your understanding and commitment to maintaining a positive and respectful environment.
