Health and Well-Being

Our Service

Bay Veterans Association well-being service is designed in order to support veterans and their families in living healthier, more connected and fulfilling lives.  Whether it is group sessions or one-to-one we take a whole-person approach, offering support across key areas;

Nutrition & Healthy Living - Healthy eating and lifestyle habits tailored to veterans' and their families needs. We provide regular educational content sessions from a qualified nutritionist with behaviour change guidance to promote sustainable long-term changes. We can also provide 1-2-1 bespoke support if group settings are not your thing!

Mental Well-Being SupportWe offer a safe and supportive space where veterans and their family members can access emotional support, informal conversations, and signposting to professional services when needed. We also deliver regular educational content sessions helping soldiers, veterans, and their dependents understand topics such as anxiety and trauma after life in the forces, along with effective interventions to combat this; It's okay to talk!

Physical Activity & Fitness - Staying active supports body and mind. We provide exercise programmes and fitness classes tailored to each individual's health condition and needs. Our exercise referral specialist can work alongside your primary care provider to deliver the correct support and information to manage your condition and reduce the associated symptoms. The aim is to help veterans build strength, mobility and confidence which equates to improved quality of life.

Social Prescribing & Personal Activities - We take the time to get to know you and look at your interests, hobbies, and goals to help you reconnect with the things that matter to you. We aim to help you find purpose and enjoyment in life after the military, whether you served, or supported those who did.

Specialist services- Our Health & Well-being service also provides GP referral programmes and chronic ill-health support, Proprioception and fall prevention and Injury rehabilitation support. We deliver these as part of our regular group-session programmes, or if you prefer, we can work with you on a 1-2-1 basis.
